For young players our coaches have invited up from Foundational: serious coaching and tournament play, without four training days a week. The next step, RTC-EBA, is selected together with Badminton Nederland.

Serious training, without four days a week.

EBA Selection is the intensive youth programme one step below RTC-EBA — same venues, same coaching team, up to three sessions a week. Players are chosen by the EBA coaching staff on talent, performance and commitment, and players from other clubs and badminton schools are welcome.

How a player gets in

SeenA coach watches the player train or play — at EBA, at their own club, or at an assessment we arrange.

EBA Selection is an annual commitment — there is no month-to-month option. A one-time €12 registration charge applies to new members.

Where it leads

RTC-EBA. Players who are ready move up to the Regional Training Centre programme, selected jointly with Badminton Nederland, at a minimum of four sessions a week. Selection is the proving ground — and the right place to stay if four days will not fit the week.

Talented players from other clubs and badminton schools train here. You do not have to leave your club to be assessed.

Injury protection

Selection is the one category with an injury refund: where an injury stops participation for the rest of the season, 50% of the remaining proportion is refunded.

The same coaching team

Selection and RTC-EBA share venues and coaches, including our ex-Olympian head coach. The difference is intensity, not quality.

Questions parents ask

How are players selected?

By invitation from the EBA coaching team. It is not a programme you apply into directly. If you would like your child seen — including players from other clubs — use the assessment button above. It is free, and it commits you to nothing.

What do you look at in an assessment?

Technical foundation, movement and footwork, match understanding, and how the player trains — attitude, coachability and consistency. Results matter less than trajectory. We also look at whether the family can support the training load.

My child is new to badminton. Can we ask for an assessment?

Please start with EBA Foundational instead. The assessment is for players who already train in a structured way or compete. Foundational coaches flag talented children to the Selection staff themselves, so nothing is missed.

How is this different from RTC-EBA?

Same venues and coaching team. EBA Selection is up to three sessions a week and selected by EBA coaches; RTC-EBA requires a minimum of four and is selected jointly with Badminton Nederland. If four days a week will not fit your schedule, Selection is the right programme.

Is the family discount available?

No. It is limited to Recreational Adults, Recreational University Students and EBA Foundational, and a household containing an EBA Selection player does not qualify at all — including a recreational sibling or parent.
